  3. @1    The Doctor stared into the newspaper with gratitude. Here was 
  4. someone really willing to help humans with their problems. At this the
  5. Doctor laughed. It seemed like such a small step, but he knew how
  6. important it was. After all he'd been doing it for years.
  7.     
  8.     Humans were such difficult people. In a way the Doctor almost
  9. wished that he himself was human, it would mean an end to all the 
  10. intergalactic problems he had to face. Not that he'd enjoy it. He'd 
  11. tried living as a human once before and it had been anything but 
  12. easy. However did humans manage it he wondered.

  14.     Still someone must have taken iniative here, the perfect solution
  15. to any problem.

  17.     "Tegan, Tegan, come here for a minute, I've got something to show 
  18. you", he called. The Doctor had had so many companions during his 
  19. long life that he sometimes wondered how he managed to keep track of 
  20. them all. Whatever anyone might say he didn't find it easy, even with 
  21. his superior brain. Well, he reasoned,someone has to do it and they 
  22. all mean well, don't they?

  24.     "Yes Doctor", reported Tegan, just seconds later.

  26.     "Ah Tegan, I wanted to point this out to you", the Doctor 
  27. remarked. "A brilliant idea, I might almost have thought of it 
  28. myself".

  30.     "Well", replied Tegan, "You might have done if you were here 
  31. twenty years ago".

  33.     "Oh yes", the Doctor chuckled. "I'd quite forgotten that little
  34. incident for a minute". Why how time flew when you were having fun!
